The Spring Creek Elementary School is one of several projects currently taking place within the State College Area School District. The brand new building will be constructed on the property of the existing Houserville Elementary School, which will be demolished once Spring Creek opens in July of 2019. The new school will offer three classrooms for each grade, making it large enough to house students from both  the Houserville and soon-to-be-closed Lemont Elementary schools. With plenty of curtain walls and clerestory windows, the new structure will provide students and teachers with countless bright and airy educational spaces. Some such spaces include an open-concept library, a full-size basketball court, and a cafeteria that doubles as an auditorium.
